Israel in Alarm

Israel Materials 5 February 2008 20:31 (UTC +04:00)

Israel, Jerusalem Trend corr. R.Abdullayev / The Israeli police received more than 50 warnings regarding possible terror attacks a day after the bloody terrorist attack in Dimon resulting in 1 death and more than 40 people injured, MIGNEWS reported.

Nine of the 50 warnings may be considered credible. The majority of warnings were connected with the break in the Gaza portion of the border with Egypt by HAMAS militants, and the lack of a security fence on the south of Hevron through which activists entered Israel and attacked the trade centre in Dimon.

Dimon was chosen as the centre of the attack purposefully, as the city is located close to a nuclear reactor. Israeli police announced an emergency situation in the country due to the country's recent events.
