Russia has nothing against an Iranian proposal to hold a trilateral meeting of foreign ministers from Azerbaijan, Armenia and Iran on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said at a briefing in Moscow, RIA Novosti reported.

"We have nothing against this meeting. If such a meeting does take place, it is necessary to wait for the results and then to talk about the possibility of Iran's mediation in the settlement," Nesterenko said while commenting on an Iranian proposal to mediate in Nagorno Karabakh.

Nesterenko emphasized that, at this stage, Iran's proposal concerning its participation in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement concerns only a tripartite meeting.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has not received formal proposals from Azerbaijan to include Turkey in the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on Nagorno Karabakh, Nesterenko said.

"Russia, as one of the countries of the Minsk Group co-chairs, has not received this proposal officially. In any case, the consent of all the parties of the conflict is necessary to hold a conversation," the diplomat said at a briefing in Moscow.
