To win in the U.S. presidential elections Democrat Barack Obama needs to enlist another 27 more votes of the electorate, while his opponent - Republican Mitt Romney - needs another 64 to 89 votes, the Voice of Russia reported.

This prognosis was published Sunday in The Washington Post, citing results of the latest opinion polls, and their own analytical calculations.

According to the paper, Obama at present has 186 votes of the electorate, and Romney - 170.

Supposedly another 57 gravitate towards Obama, and some 36 voters - to Romney.

In the U.S. the vote is cast not for the actual president, but for the Electoral College, determined in each state by a majority system.

Voting for the presidential candidate is slated for November 6.
