BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9. In June 2024, the number of passengers arriving at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport increased by 18 percent year-on-year to 19.82 million people, Trend reports via the Turkish Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
According to the ministry, in June 2024, the airport's passenger turnover for domestic flights increased by 21 percent compared to June 2023, reaching 9.46 million people. For international flights, passenger turnover increased by 15.9 percent, reaching 10.35 million people.
The airport's cargo traffic in June 2024 was 201,136 tons, a 10 percent increase compared to June 2023.
Specifically, domestic flight cargo traffic increased by 7 percent to 59,355 tons, and international flight cargo traffic increased by 12.2 percent to 141,781 tons, compared to the same period in 2023.
In June 2024, the number of flights from the airport increased by 9 percent compared to June 2023, totaling 117,773. Domestic flights increased by 7 percent to 54,983, while international flights increased by 10 percent to 62,979.
In June 2024, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye amounted to 104.7 million people, and cargo turnover was 2.24 million tons.
In 2023, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye totaled 214 million people, with cargo traffic amounting to 4.2 million tons.
