CIS countries to sign new cooperation agreement

Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will sign a new agreement to counter corruption and a treaty on the inter-state cooperation on the hunt for wanted and missing persons at a meeting of the interior ministers of CIS member-states on Sept. 17 in St. Petersburg, Russia, the CIS Executive Committee has told Trend.

Methods of combating crime and human trafficking, working with Interpol, and human rights form the agenda of the meeting. The ministers will also discuss a unified network of automated data and telecommunications systems.

The Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary Toktasin Buzubayev, is expected to participate in the meeting.

A delegation from Azerbaijan also plans to attend the meeting.
