Georgia, Tbilisi, Nov. 3 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /

The Georgian and Ukrainian defense ministries have never stopped and will continue the military-technical cooperation in the future, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Yezhel said at the joint press conference with his Georgian Counterpart Bacho Akhalaia in Tbilisi on Wednesday.

He said the issues of military-technical cooperation were discussed today, and it was an essential part of the negotiations. "Ukraine has always stuck to the cooperation with the Georgian Defense Ministry, and we do not intend to change anything in this regard," Yezhel said.

Replying to the journalists' question about what specific issues of the military-technical natures were discussed at the ministerial meeting, and whether the agreement on deliveries of arms signed in 2008 will be continued, Akhalaia said the meeting was of "informational nature" and the talks did not specified the issues.

"We have discussed issues of the military cooperation, training and other issues, which were of interest to us," he said, stressing that they mainly talked "about the prospects".

Yezhel has today arrived in Georgia with a two-day visit and tomorrow he will hold meetings in the Georgian Security Council.
