Azerbaijan creates youth parliament

Azerbaijan has created a youth parliament.

It is a long term project proposed by a group of 11 people.

The primary objective is to put before the state and society issues of concern to youths, to ensure youth participation in processes in the country, to promote intercultural dialogue and international understanding and to help provide a forum for developing the skills of Azerbaijani youth representatives.

The project will consist of several stages.

Elections will take place in two stages -- application and interview.

Successful applicants will be invited for an interview.

The initiative group that will choose members includes MPs, and public organization and media representatives.

Socially active young people aged 18-29 years old, talented and socially active students, young people working in international organisations, media, public and private structures, in science can become young parliamentarians.
