Former deputy chief of the Anti-terrorist Center of Azerbaijan's Ministry of National Security Ilgar Aliyev committed suicide, using bed linen in Baku detention facility on Sunday, the Public Relations Department of the Penitentiary Service of the Justice Ministry of Azerbaijan told Trend.
Ilgar Aliyev was kept in a double cell. When his cell mate went to make a call, Aliyev committed suicide.
Investigating authorities, Aliyev's relatives and his lawyer were immediately notified due to death.
The criminal case opened under the article 125 of the Criminal Code, the investigation is underway.
