Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Javadova / The criminal trial involving Azerbaijan's former Minister of Economic Development, Farhad Aliyev, his brother Rafik Aliyev, former President of the Azpetrol Group of Companies, and seventeen other people, is continuing at the Court of Heinous Crimes presided over by Judge Tofik Pashayev.
At the beginning of the hearing, the judge stated that the petition by lawyers Isakhan Ashurov and Yunis Valiyev were declined, but the request of Elton Guliyev was partially approved.
Guliyev appealed to include materials for the document on assessment concerning twelve privatized facilities of which F. Aliyev was charged. Ashurov requested to introduce the protocol at the first questioning on 19 October 2005 to his case, and Valiyev to change prosecutors, according to the General Prosecutor by the Tax Ministry and State Committee on Property.
Guliyev expressed his protest against the judicial composition. The resolution of the petition will be known at the second part of the day.
