BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. Azerbaijan's oil production is projected to reach 0.64 mb/d in 2025, according to the latest data received by Trend from the International Energy Agency (IEA).
As such, the agency has kept its forecast for this country's output unchanged from last month's assessment.
The IEA expects Azerbaijan’s oil output to start at 0.61 mb/d in the first quarter of 2025, increasing to 0.63 mb/d in the second quarter, and further to 0.65 mb/d in the third quarter.
For 2024, Azerbaijan aims to maintain crude production at around 0.6 mb/d. Output is expected to stand at approximately 0.6 mb/d in the third quarter, and 0.61 mb/d in the fourth quarter of the current year.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan produced 21.6 million tons of oil and condensate from January through September 2024. Out of this volume, 17.9 million tons were exported, primarily through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline. During the same period in 2023, production reached 22.7 million tons, with 19 million tons exported.
Azerbaijan produced approximately 30 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons in 2023, and the target for this year is also around 30 million tons.
