ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 4. KazMunayGas-Aero breathes new life into Kazakhstan's transit landscape, sowing seeds of progress through its investments in the lifeblood of aviation fuel infrastructure, Trend reports.
It has been reported that, based on the results from the initial ten months of 2024, KazMunayGas-Aero, a subsidiary of KazMunayGas, provided aviation fuel to foreign planes at an average competitive price of $1,020 per ton, whereas the price per ton at airports in adjacent countries was $1,242.
KMG-Aero does not utilize formula-based pricing for domestic aircraft; thus, the price just encompasses production costs and operational expenses, averaging $820 per ton this year (inclusive of the "wing refueling" service).
Currently, the company is executing several investment initiatives to enhance the transit capabilities of Kazakhstan's airports in Astana and Aktobe, with intentions to undertake analogous projects in Turkestan, Aktau, and further cities around Kazakhstan. These initiatives emphasize the development and enhancement of aviation fuel infrastructure for the utilization of advanced aviation fuels, including Jet A-1 and SAF.
The total investment volume is roughly $28.5 million, which is set to open doors to about 140 new jobs in the regions where the projects are taking shape.
To note, KazMunayGas-Aero is a highly efficient subsidiary of KazMunayGas, operating in the aviation fuel supply market in the Republic of Kazakhstan since mid-2014. KMG-Aero holds a 16 percent share of the commercial aviation fuel market in Kazakhstan.
