BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. Azerbaijan sold consumer goods worth 62.2 billion manat ($36.5 billion) through retail trade turnover in 2024, including food, beverages, and tobacco products valued at 34.1 billion manat ($20 billion) and non-food products worth 28.1 billion manat ($16.5 billion).
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan indicates that retail turnover in real terms saw a 3.9 percent increase compared to 2023, with food, beverages, and tobacco products rising by 2.1 percent, and non-food products experiencing a growth of 6.3 percent.

Moreover, consumer spending in the retail trade network in 2024 was distributed as follows: 50.5 percent went toward food products, 4.4 percent on beverages and tobacco, 14.5 percent on textiles, clothing, and footwear, 5.5 percent on motor gasoline and diesel fuel, 4.8 percent on electrical goods and furniture, 2.2 percent on pharmaceuticals and medical goods, 1.2 percent on computers, telecommunications equipment, and printed products, and 16.9 percent on other non-food products.
The value of goods sold by non-state sector businesses rose by 3.9 percent in real terms compared to the previous year, accounting for 99.7 percent of the total retail turnover.
Additionally, retail trade turnover in 2024 saw a real-term increase of 8.6 percent for enterprises, 1.8 percent for individual entrepreneurs, and 3.4 percent for markets and fairs, compared to 2023.
On average, each person spent 508 manat ($298.8) per month on goods in the retail trade network, including 278.8 manat ($164) on food, beverages, and tobacco products, and 229.2 manat ($134.8) on non-food products.
