ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 5. We are ready to export up to 1 million tons of grain to Egypt and, if necessary, increase the supply volumes, said Kazakhstan's Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov, during a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Egypt to Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Egypt to Kazakhstan, Ibtissam Rakha Ahmed Hassan. The sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.

Aidarbek Saparov emphasized that cooperation in agriculture is one of the priority areas. "The share of agricultural products in the total trade turnover with Egypt is low, and the potential for increasing the volume of mutually beneficial agricultural product supplies is not fully utilized. We need to enhance our work. In 2024, thanks to the measures taken and adherence to agrotechnologies, a record harvest of grain crops was gathered," noted the minister.

Ibtissam Rakha Ahmed Hassan reported that representatives of the "Future Egypt for Sustainable Development" agency would visit Kazakhstan soon to address this issue.

The Kazakh side is ready to provide comprehensive assistance in their work. The export of beef and lamb to Egypt, as well as joint construction of storage facilities for wheat and grains, were also discussed.
