BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 21. A total of 27.6 percent, or $5.1 billion, in Azerbaijan's reciprocal service turnover came from transportation service operations.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Central Bank shows that 62.8 percent of the transportation services accounted for non-residents' use of the country's transportation services.
The value of transportation services provided by Azerbaijani residents to non-residents was $3.2 billion, while the value of services provided by non-residents to Azerbaijani residents was $1.9 billion.
During the mentioned period, transportation service exports in the non-oil and gas sector hiked by 12.8 percent, while the imports grew by 7.5 percent.
Consequently, the transportation services surplus increased 11.4 percent to $1.3 billion.
Meanwhile, the transportation service surplus amounted to $1.2 billion in 2023.
