ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 9. Under the decision of the Federal Agency "Russian Maritime Register of Shipping," following the results of the extraordinary survey, the class of the OMF (offshore mooring facility) CPC-1 RS No. 010784 has been reinstated, Trend reports.
“The OMF (offshore mooring facility) CPC-1 has been put into operation. Oil is being loaded via OMF CPC-1 and OMF CPC-3,” the Caspian Pipeline Consortium stated.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) also noted that further information regarding the resumption of operations for OMF CPC -2 will be provided at a later time.
The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest energy projects in the CIS region. The Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline spans 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan's export oil, as well as raw materials from Russian fields, including those located in the Caspian Sea. The CPC marine terminal is equipped with three offshore mooring facilities (VPU), which allow for the safe loading of tankers at significant distances from the shore.
CPC shareholders include: the Russian Federation – 24 percent, "CPC Company" (LLC) – 7 percent, JSC NC "KazMunayGas" – 19 percent, Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC – 1.75 percent, Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company – 15 percent, Lukoil International GmbH – 12.5 percent, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company – 7.5 percent, Rosneft-Shell Caspian Ventures Limited – 7.5 percent, BG Overseas Holdings Limited – 2 percent, Eni International N.A. N.V. S.ar.l. – 2 percent, and Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC – 1.75 percent.
