Georgia's state debt to vary between 30-40 percent of GDP over five years

National Bank of Georgia, the International Monetary Fund and other international financial organizations are constantly carrying out analysis of the external debt of the country. It will vary between 30-40 percent over 5 next years, the National Bank said.

"This figure is much lower than that in Eastern Europe and CIS", the National Bank said.

Total external debt of Georgia amounted to $8.6319 billion. This figure includes both public and private institutions' debt (banks, companies, etc.). Government structures' debt is $2.7384 billion (25 percent of GDP), National Bank - $ 913.7 million (9 percent), $1.6014 billion (15 percent) - the banking sector, $1.2914 billion (12 percent) - in other sectors and $2.087 billion (18 percent) - companies.
