International Finance Corporation (IFC) intends to support the fourth Azerbaijani bank in introducing risk management systems, the head of IFC's project for the anti-crisis measures on the financial market Garth Bedford said.
"We are working with Azerbaijani banks and the Central Bank to support implementation of their risk management systems. The main thing is to improve the management of bad assets and enhance the ability of banks to issue loans," Bedford said.
He said that IFC is actively working with AGBank, Unibank and Turan Bank. It holds discussions with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan to determine the fourth bank.
IFC Project for the anti-crisis measures in the financial market was launched in summer of 2009 and will last two years. Funding of actions taken within the project is implemented partially at the expense of the IFC and the banks themselves.
