Total deposits of individuals to the member banks of Azerbaijan Deposit Insurance Fund (ADIF) in the first quarter amounted to 2.385 billion manat, of which 707.69 million manat was not insured, but 1.678 billion manat was insured, the Fund reported on April 23.
The number of insured deposits during the reported period totaled 5,197,888. The calendar payments made by the 43 member banks in the first quarter totaled 831,000 manat, $1.345 million and €172,000.
Fund's insurance reserves amounted to 25.698 million manat in the first quarter.
Since January 1, 2009 the deposits to ADIF member banks at an annual interest rate of over 15 percent are not insured by the Fund. Currently, the maximum level of insurance coverage for the deposit is 30,000 manat. For the insurance of their deposits, the individuals do not make any payments, insurance payments are made only by banks.
