In January-June Azerbaijan imported about 818,760 tons of cement and cement clinker, which is 25.3 percent less than the same period last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said. Cement and cement clinker in January-June was imported to the amount of about $37.8 million, which is 3.2 percent less than that of 2009.
Cement clinker in January-May was imported to the amount of 321,560 tons, 23,2 percent less than the last year. Clinker was imported to the amount of about $15.4 million, 16.1 percent more than the last year.
During January-June approximately 497,200 tons of cement were imported to the country, or 26.5 percent less than the same period last year. Cement worth $22.43 million was imported to the country, or 13.1 percent less than in January-June 2009.
In January-July Azerbaijan produced about 845.600 tons of cement, which is 1.1 percent more than the same period of last year.
