Iran and Italy have signed four memorandums of understanding (MoU) on mutual cooperation, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported Nov. 29.
An Italian trade delegation, headed by Deputy Minister for Economic Development Carlo Calenda arrived in Tehran on Nov. 28 to discuss grounds for boosting mutual trade ties.
The Italian delegation includes 360 industrialists active in the fields of environment, renewable energies, mechanics, medicine, auto-manufacturing, and building materials as well as 12 banking groups.
The officials from the two sides signed four documents for cooperation in various sectors including industry, business and tourism on the sidelines of a joint economic forum in Tehran.
The MoUs envisage developing relations in the fields of technical and scientific training as well as leather industry, tourism and economic cooperation.
Italy remains one of Iran's key commercial partners even after pre-sanction annual trade between the two countries plunged from $7 billion to $1.5 billion.
Iran exported $ 302 million worth of goods to Italy during the first half of current fiscal year (March 21-Sept. 22), meanwhile imported $ 447.5 million worth goods from it during the mentioned period.
