The volume of stock trading on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), decreased by 84.8 percent – to 132.8 billion tenges (91.6 percent decrease in US dollars to $391.9 million) in Jan. –Sept. 2016 compared to the same period of 2015, KASE reported.
Trading volume of public securities on KASE totaled 415.8 billion tenges in January-Sept. 2016, which is 4.8 percent more than in the same period 2015. Trading volume of public securities in US dollar equivalent decreased by 44.6 percent to $1.19 billion in the reporting period.
Trading volume of corporate debt securities at KASE decreased by 54.6 percent and totaled 381.5 billion tenges in January-Sept. 2016 as compared to the same period of 2015. Trading volume of corporate debt securities in US dollar equivalent decreased by 73.9 percent to $1.11 billion in this period.
The trade volume on repo operations at KASE increased by almost 3 times and totaled 40.59 trillion tenges during the reporting period, as compared to January-Sept. 2015. Repo operations in US dollar equivalent increased by almost 2 times to $131.03 billion.
