German Siemens company has signed a number of strategic partnership contracts with Uzbek companies for implementation of projects in the energy and industrial sectors, Trend reports with reference to UzDaily.
Uzbekneftegaz JSC and Siemens signed a document for cooperation in implementation of projects for digitalization of hydrocarbon production technologies such as "Smart Well", "Digital Field", "Digital Terminal / Oil Depot", "Center for Monitoring and Diagnostics”. Siemens technologies, solutions and international experience in the field of digitalization will be studied within the framework of partnership.
Moreover, Memorandum on the modernization of generation facilities was concluded with Uzbekenergo JSC. The document implies cooperation on the modernization of the Syrdarya TPP and the Novo-Angren TPP to significantly increase the efficiency of these power plants or repowering them (converting the steam power unit to the combined-cycle gas turbine unit).
Siemens and Chirchik Transformer Plant JSC signed a contract for the supply of high-voltage bushings for 110 kV transformers.
“Siemens considers Uzbekistan as one of the promising markets in Central Asia and is ready to assist in the implementation of country's ambitious plans for economic modernization. We have made a significant progress in dialogue with our partners in all areas over the past year and we expect to start implementing specific joint projects in the near future”, Siemens President in Russia Alexander Liberov said.
