Iran implements 'passive defense' at its ports

Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has implemented 11 projects to ensure safety and security of its ports, said the Director General of Passive Defense at the organization, Changiz Javadpour.

"Since our country is constantly under cyber, security, chemical, environmental and economic threats it is necessary to ensure protection in various fields, including infrastructure of ports," said Javadpour, Trend reports citing the PMO website.

"It is important to increase the security on imports and exports of goods," he added.

The official has emphasized that PMO has completed detailed passive defense and crisis management studies on Shahid Rajaiee, Imam Khomeini , Anzali, Astara, Khorramshahr, Noshahr and Fereydonkenar ports.

"The Ports and Maritime Organization has signed a contract for detailed passive defense studies and crisis management in Chabahar and Bushehr ports," he added.
