A total of 2.51 million tons of goods worth more than 178 trillion rials (about $4.23 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (February 12 through February 17, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.
This is an increase of 40.2 percent in value and 39.2 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (February 5 through February 10, 2022).
So, 1.8 million tons of goods worth more than 127 trillion rials (about $3.02 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.
According to the report, about 2.2 million tons of goods worth about 119 trillion rials (about $2.83 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.
The main products sold in this section were cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, cast iron, aluminum, copper, petroleum coke, zinc, molybdenum concentrate, precious metals concentrate, gold, and etc.
In addition, about 305,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 56.8 trillion rials (about $1.35 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.
The main products sold in this section were, bitumen, polymer substances, vacuum bottom, lube cut, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, slaps wax, argon and etc.
Furthermore, about 8,820 tons of various products worth about 1.97 trillion rials (about $46.9 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
