Phase 10 of South Pars field will start operating on Friday producing 17 million cubic meters gas per day , Fars News Agency reported.

By installing 6 wellheads in Phase 10 the production of 600 million cubic feet of gas per day will be commenced on Friday.

Previously 7 wells in Phase 9 were commissioned, while refinery of Phase 9 and 10 were used by Phase 6, 7 and 8 for sour gas refining.

Six gas wells in Phase 10 will start production of 600 million cubic feet gas while the rest of gas wells in this Phase will operate by the end of the current year (year starts on March 20,2011)

Gas produced in Phase 10 would feed refineries in Phase 9 and 10 and increase sour gas production of Phase 6, 7 and 8 which would be injected into Aghajari oil field

At present, Phases 9 and 10 alongside Phases 6, 7 and 8 (33 million cubic meter of gas) pump 50 million cubic meters of sweet gas per day into country's gas network.

Each gas well in Phase 9 produces 100 to 120 million cubic feet of gas per day, while more than 400 million feet cubic of gas from platform 9 is delivered every day to refineries of Phases 9 and 10.

Iran considers Phases 9 and 10 as significant projects in South Pars oil and gas field development and expects to extract 80,000 barrels of condensate per day for export, produce one million tons ethane for petrochemical purposes and more than one million tons natural gas

Iran South Pars oil and gas field is one of the largest in the world and predicts up to $130 billion revenues per year.
