Volume of Azerbaijani gas exports to Turkey disclosed

Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Turkey dropped by 50.63 percent in July 2021, as compared to the same month in 2020, and stood at 540.03 million cubic meters, Trend reports with reference to Turkey’s Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

Azerbaijan came in third in terms of the gas export volumes to Turkey in this period. Russia was the largest exporter of natural gas to Turkey in July 2021 with 2.305 billion cubic meters, a 173.45 percent increase year-on-year, followed by Iran with 633.20 million cubic meters, or 4.69 percent less year-on-year.

Turkey’s overall gas imports rose by 30.15 percent in July 2021 year-on-year and stood at 4.047 billion cubic meters, with 3.479 billion cubic meters accounting for pipeline imports and 568.45 million cubic meters imported as liquefied natural gas.

Pipeline imports increased by 33.74 percent, while LNG imports saw a 11.80 percent growth.

The country’s natural gas consumption rose by 35.14 percent and reached 3.838 billion cubic meters.
