BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. Azerbaijan’s monetary base stood at 20.8 billion manat ($12.2 billion) as of October 31, 2024, marking an 11.26 percent increase, or 2 billion manat ($1.1 billion) more than the corresponding period in 2023.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) shows that the monetary base surpassed 17.8 billion manat ($10.4 billion) in the corresponding period of 2023.
As of October this year, the monetary base decreased by 2.02 percent, or 422.5 million manat ($248.5 million) less than the figure recorded on September 30, 2024.
To note, the monetary base comprises cash, free bank reserves, and compulsory reserves of commercial banks in circulation.
