Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 April / Trend / On 5 April, the Qafqaz University will hold the first round of the republican informatics competition amongst university students, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry reported.
Some 33 teams and 14 universities of Azerbaijan, including the regional ones, applied for participation in the first round and the number of applicants totalled 118 students.
The first round of the competition is the selection round. The teams striking 30% in the selection round will pass for the final round, which will take place at the IT Institution of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on 3 May 2008.
The competition is dedicated to the Universal Day of Telecommunications and is organized by the Communications Ministry, Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Education Ministry and the IT Institution.
