BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. The Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan and the Association of Information and Communication Technologies of Azerbaijan (AİCTA) signed a memorandum of understanding this week, Trend reports.

The main purpose of signing the memorandum was to join forces and work hand in hand in the fields of information security and cyber security, as well as to team up and organize collaborative efforts to boost public confidence in these areas.

Furthermore, it was reported that Azerbaijan and Türkiye had a heart-to-heart about joining forces in the realm of artificial intelligence. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in such areas as information and communication technologies (ICT), the space industry, artificial intelligence, and cyber security.

Information and communication companies in Azerbaijan made headlines this week after providing services worth 1.9 billion manat ($1.1 billion) (12.6 percent growth) between January and July 2024, where the public accounted for 74 percent of this total.

It is noteworthy that, during the reporting period, revenues from mobile communication services in Azerbaijan amounted to 690.7 million manat ($406.2 million) (35.6 percent of the total revenues of the telecommunications market).
