ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 17. The newly launched Tejen - Mary section of the Ashgabat - Turkmenabat high-speed highway has been awarded a number of prestigious international certificates, Trend reports.
According to official data, the expressway has received
certificates from the Japanese NEC Communication, Ltd. 'For the
introduction of innovative technologies along the high-speed
highway' and the French Grenobloise D'Elektronique et
D'Automatismes (GEA) 'For compliance with high standards of video
surveillance and payment systems on the high-speed road'.
Additionally, three certificates were secured from the Austrian
Vienna Consulting Engineers ZT GmbH (VCE).
This company received certificates such as 'For compliance with
the European guidelines for technical approval and standards for
the construction of a high-speed road', 'For compliance with ISO
9001 standards for quality control of a high-speed road', and 'For
compliance of a high-speed road with methodological manuals on
German road construction projects RAA 2008, RAL 2012'.
Meanwhile, the Tejen-Mary highway is the second stage of the
600-kilometer Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highway project, which began in
2019.
The first section, which is approximately 250 kilometers long and
runs from Ashgabat to Tejen, was completed in October 2021 and is
already operational.
The highway creates new opportunities for transportation connectivity with neighboring nations along the Great Silk Road, giving truckers direct access to Turkmenbashi city, from where maritime lines connect to diverse regions such as the Caucasus, Europe, and the Gulf countries.
