ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 25. The Road Committee of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan and the British Car Park Transformer Company have signed a memorandum on the construction of roadside services on highways of national and international importance in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
The signing took place as part of the official visit of David Cameron, the Secretary of State for Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the UK, to Kazakhstan.
The document involves the construction of 250 service stations that will provide a comfortable multiservice environment for all road users. The stations will be equipped with bathrooms, retail space, and electric vehicle charging points.
In addition, the Ministry of Health, the executive power of Almaty city, KAZAKH INVEST and AstraZeneca signed a Plan for the implementation of an investment project for the contract production of biotechnological drugs in the territory of Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the UK amounted to $1.18 billion in 2023. The volume of trade turnover decreased by 36 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($1.84 billion).
At the same time, in the structure of trade turnover, exports to the UK for the above period amounted to $702 million, which is 52 percent less than from January through December 2022 ($1.46 billion).
In addition, imports from the UK from January through December 2023 increased by 24.5 percent and amounted to $478.6 million. In 2022, imports amounted to $384.3 billion.
