(KAZINFORM) - Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Islamic Republic of Iran Yerik Utembayev met with deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, special negotiator of Iran on status of Caspian Sea Mehdi Safari on Tuesday May 23, Kazinform has learnt from press service of Kazakh Embassy in Iran.During the meeting they discussed problems of cooperation in the sphere of economy, and particularly, project initiatives in oil and gas and agricultural fields, joint intergovernmental commission for commercial and economic, scientific technical and cultural collaboration.
As for the problem of Caspian Sea the sides noted that Kazakhstan and Iran might reach consensus concerning security in the region of the sea in the nearest future.
In regard to further development of Kazakhstani-Iranian bilateral potential the parties considered possible exchange of visits.
Kazakh envoy and deputy Foreign Minister of Iran considered major aspects of regional policy within the framework of such organizations as Conference of World and Traditional Religions Leaders, Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICMA) as well.
