BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 29. Kyrgyzstan's state-owned railway enterprise, Kyrgyz Temir Zholu, has acquired 100 new freight wagons and refurbished 32 older ones since 2021, Trend reports.
According to the enterprise's statement, since 2021, the enterprise has successfully cleared its debts to the national budget, companies, and railway administrations. The company is currently also continuing its efforts to digitize freight transport processes and actively implement modern technologies in the railway industry.
To enhance the safety of rail transport and modernize track infrastructure, over 100 kilometers of main railway track have been repaired in recent years.
Additionally, Kyrgyz Temir Zholu has been expanding its cooperation within the framework of the multimodal corridor linking the Asia-Pacific region, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, and Europe.
The enterprise has also successfully implemented a pilot project for transporting containers with cargo from China through Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to Afghanistan. Work is underway on launching a pilot container train from Iran to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
