BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. Kyrgyzstan has officially handed over the chairmanship of the Red Crescent Network of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) to Azerbaijan, said Chingiz Chakipov, President of the Kyrgyz Red Crescent Society, Trend reports.
He made the announcement during a meeting of the network’s leaders in Baku.
Chakipov formally transferred the chairmanship to Novruz Aslan, President of the Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society, expressing confidence that “the extensive experience and strong leadership of the Azerbaijani Red Crescent will guide our network to new achievements.”
“Today’s meeting is not only a moment to transfer the chairmanship but also an opportunity to reaffirm our shared commitment to the goals and unity inspired by the spirit of brotherhood, solidarity, and common Turkic values,” Chakipov said.
He added that the efforts of the Red Crescent and Red Cross societies of OTS member states have been consolidated, and the adoption of a new declaration, with the participation of OTS Secretary General Kurbanychbek Omuraliev, marked an important step in the network’s further development.
Chakipov assured that Kyrgyzstan will continue supporting all joint initiatives and contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of collective humanitarian efforts.
