DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 14. Transactions conducted using bank payment cards in Tajikistan reached 17.092 million as of July 31, 2025, up 18 percent from 14.468 million at the end of June 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the National Bank of Tajikistan shows that
monetary extrications constituted 8.513 million transactional
occurrences, whereas disbursements for commodities and services via
banking instruments aggregated to 8.579 million transactional
instances. The aggregate transactional volume executed through
banking payment cards reached 11.915 billion somoni, equivalent to
approximately $1.2 billion.
In the interim, the aggregate volume of bank payment cards in
circulation reached 9.256 million as of July 31, 2025, reflecting a
1.5 percent uptick from the 9.118 million recorded at the
conclusion of June 2025. The total count of bank cardholders surged
to 8.826 million, reflecting a 1.57 percent uptick from the 8.690
million recorded at the close of June 2024.
The aggregate count of active point-of-sale terminals reached
8,556, whereas the inventory of automated teller machines was
recorded at 3,251.
