DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 14. The assets of insurance and reinsurance organizations in Tajikistan reached 1.013 billion somoni ($107.6 million) as of June 30, 2025.
According to data obtained by Trend from the National Bank of Tajikistan, the metric
experienced an uptick of 211.4 million somoni ($22.4 million),
translating to a 26.4 percent increase relative to the
corresponding timeframe of the previous fiscal year.
The proportion of the insurance sector's asset allocation within
the overarching financial ecosystem of the nation has attained a
benchmark of 1.7 percent, which corresponds to 0.6 percent of the
Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
In the interim, the aggregate liabilities of insurance and
reinsurance entities operating within the jurisdiction of
Tajikistan amounted to 346.1 million somoni, equivalent to
approximately $36.7 million, for the designated reporting
timeframe. This denotes a contraction of 16.5 million somoni ($1.7
million), equating to a 4.6 percent decrease relative to the
corresponding timeframe in 2024.
As of June 30, 2025, the national insurance framework encompassed
16 entities, consisting of a singular state-owned insurer alongside
15 private sector insurers, with two of these entities concurrently
participating in reinsurance operations.
