BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. The volume of agricultural production for 2022 in the Mary region in the southeast of Turkmenistan has been announced, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
During this period, 251,800 tons of vegetables were harvested in the region, including 159,700 tons of potatoes.
Furthermore, 112,300 tons of melons, 32,400 tons of grapes and 32,200 tons of fruits were harvested in the Mary region in 2022.
Due to good indicators in the agro-industrial sector of the region, a significant decrease in prices for food products was recorded last year.
Agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. This is one of the most important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
