TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 8. Investment and trade agreements worth $1.88 billion were concluded on the Agri-Food Investment Forum in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.

The Agri-Food Investment Forum was held within the framework of the International Conference on Food Security on September 8 in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand.

During the forum, agreements on 24 projects worth $857.3 million to attract direct investment were signed; grants and funds from international financial institutions amount to $707.5 million. Furthermore, trade agreements worth $319.2 million were concluded.

The International Conference on Food Security is organized by the government of Uzbekistan with technical support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The participating countries named climate change, depletion of water resources, and land degradation as the topical issues.
