Some 1.1 million tourists have so far visited Aras Free Zone during Noruz holidays, which started on March 20, and the figure is expected to reach 2 million by the end of holidays (April 1), ILNA news agency reported.
During the first nine days of the Noruz holidays last year some 925,000 persons visited the free zone, the report added.
The Aras Free Zone is situated northwest of Iran, bordering Azerbaijan, Armenia and Nakhechivan. The area measures some 50,000 hectares in area.
