BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. The export of non-oil products through Jolfa Customs of East Azerbaijan Province, located in northwestern Iran, increased by 138 percent in value and 77.8 percent in weight terms during 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through June 21, 2023), the Director General of Iran's Jolfa Customs Administration Iraj Jabbari said this, Trend reports.
According to him, during 3 months, a total of 109,000 tons of non-oil products worth $87.3 million were exported through the Jolfa customs office.
Jabbari noted that during the same period last year, exports of non-oil products through Jolfa Customs amounted to 61,400 tons worth $36.7 million.
The official stated that during the three months, about 132,000 tons of products worth 203 million dollars were imported to the country through Jolfa customs. Imports of products increased by 7 percent in value terms and decreased by 2 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year. During the same period last year, 134,000 tons of products worth $189 million were imported.
Jabbari emphasized that about 213,000 tons of products worth $393 million were transited through Jolfa Customs during the 3 months. The transit of products decreased by 3 percent in value and increased by 2 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, Iran exported 38 million tons of non-oil products worth $13.5 billion in the first 3 months of the current Iranian year. Iran's exports of non-oil products decreased by 7.6 percent in value and 5.6 percent in weight compared to the same month of last year.
To note, Iran's imports of non-oil products amounted to 9.4 million tons worth $14.3 billion during the 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024). During the 3 months, non-oil imports increased by 1.4 percent in value and 7.8 percent in weight compared to the same month of last year.
