BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 24. The sales of the National Company of Copper Industries of Iran increased by 30 percent during the four months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through July 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), the statement of Iran's National Company of Copper Industries said, Trend reports.
The National Company of Copper Industries sold products worth 444 trillion rials (about $1.13 billion) during the four months. However, in the same period last year, the figure was 342 trillion rials (about $873 million).
Furthermore, the National Copper Industry Company exported about 12,700 tons of products worth $129 million during the four months. This is 42 percent more in value and 11 percent more in weight compared to the same period last year. In the same period last year, the company exported 11,500 tons of products worth about $90.9 million.
The volume of the National Copper Industry Company's domestic sales amounted to 390 trillion rials (about $995 million) during the four months. Domestic sales are 34 percent higher compared to the same period last year. In the same period last year, the company sold about 292 trillion rials (about $744 million) of products in the country.
To note, Iran's National Copper Industry Company states that the country has 19 billion tons of copper reserves. Sarcheshmeh and Sungun are considered the main copper mines in Iran.
