Iran has exported 15 million tons of petrochemicals, worth $6.5 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (started March 20, 2016).
Meanwhile the volume of petrochemical exports has increased compared to same period of the preceding year, value of exports has decreased due to sharp fall of oil price, Mehr news agency reported Dec. 27.
Iran’s petrochemical exports is expected to be worth $9.5 billion by March 2017.
The country produced 37 million tons of petrochemical products in nine months, and projects to increase this volume to 52 million tons by end of current fiscal year(March 20, 2017).
Iran’s actual petrochemical output capacity is around 63 million tons per year.
The country hopes to bring the capacity to 120 million tons by 2020 and 160 million tons by 2025.
