BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 16. The export of non-oil products through Jolfa Customs of East Azerbaijan Province, located in northwestern Iran, increased by 22 percent in value terms and 24 percent in weight terms in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024) compared to the same period last year, director general of Iran's customs administration in Jolfa Mohammad Khalili said, Trend reports.
Khalili added that 289,000 tons of products worth $770 million were imported through Julfa Customs during 11 months. Imports of products increased by 36 percent in value terms and 41 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year.
The official informed that for 11 months, transit through Julfa Customs amounted to 1.35 million tons.
He said the revenue of Jolfa Customs amounted to 33.8 trillion rials (about $806 million) in 11 months. This is 49 percent more than in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's exports of non-oil products in 11 months amounted to about 125 million tons valued at about $44.9 billion. Iran's exports of non-oil products decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 11.4 percent in weight terms.
To note, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, about 35.8 million tons of products worth around $59.9 billion were imported into Iran in the first 11 months. Iran's product imports increased by 11.1 percent in value terms and 6.4 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year.
