Iran’s Mehran customs sees strong export performance

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 28. In the seventh month of the current Iranian year (March 20 - October 21, 2024), the Mehran customs office in Ilam province, western Iran, processed the export of 1.65 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at $930 million, Trend reports.

Sohrab Kamari, Director General of Ilam Province’s Customs Administration, shared this information with local media, highlighting the primary export items as petrochemicals, power plant equipment, construction materials, metal and rubber products, and agricultural goods, with Iraq as the main recipient.

Kamari added that during the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2023 - March 19, 2024), exports through Mehran customs totaled 3.22 million tons of non-oil products, worth $1.81 billion.

Mehran, located approximately 230 kilometers from Baghdad, sees about 600 trucks moving goods daily from this customs point.
