BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. The export of products through Iran's Jolfa Customs of East Azerbaijan Province, located in the country's north-west, grew by 23.6 percent in value and 16.7 percent in weight during the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), Director General of Jolfa Customs Office Ali Bisalam told reporters, Trend reports.
Bisalam said that 388,000 tons of products worth $241 million were exported through Jolfa Customs during the reporting year against 332,000 tons of products worth $195 million in the previous year.
He added that mainly petroleum products, steel, and various dried fruits have been exported through the Jolfa customs to Türkiye, Iraq, and Azerbaijan.
The customs official pointed out that 332,000 tons of products worth $1 billion were imported through the Jolfa customs last year, marking a growth of 14.7 percent in value and 16 percent in weight compared to the previous year ($875 million worth of 286,000 tons of products).
"The imported products mainly included trucks, spare parts, wood, and others from Türkiye, China, and South Korea," he explained.
Bisalam added that the Jolfa customs revenue amounted to 57.9 trillion rials (about $102 million) last year.
The report of the Iranian Customs Administration shows that Iran exported 152 million tons of non-oil products worth $57.8 billion during the last Iranian year, meaning a year-on-year growth of 15.6 percent in value and 10 percent in weight.
The data also indicates that Iran imported 39.3 million tons of non-oil products worth $72.3 billion during the last Iranian year, meaning a growth of 15.6 percent in value and a decrease of one percent in weight compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024).
