( a1 ) - A1+ conducted polling among the representatives of the youth on the upcoming parliamentary elections. Over 100 students participated in our polling. It is due to mention that the young generation seems to be ill-disposed towards the elections as they have pessimistic opinion on them. They don't believe that the elections will be free and just.
85 per cent of those surveyed are convinced that there will be numerous election frauds and only 5 per cent assume that the elections will be just and free.
In answer to our question what measures must be taken to prevent election frauds and stuffing, most students answered we must combat against corruption fist of all, boycott the elections as the whole political sphere is corrupted.
18 per cent assume that the best way to avoid fabrications is to provide large-scale participation of the electorate.
The most striking is the fact that many of the polling participants expect financial or material assistance during the elections. There were also people who expressed readiness to sell their votes or to take bribes.
Some of the polling participants even wondered if we could become mediators between them and parties so that they could sell their votes.
To note, the polling was aimed at revealing the students' interest towards political processes. The students of four faculties of the Yerevan State University were involved in the polling. It turned out that only 85% of them were interested in politics. Others say that their interest is determined by their profession.
