Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has extended his best wishes to Azerbaijanis living in Georgia on the Novruz holiday.
"My dear Azerbaijanis, the Novruz holiday is as important for me as a Georgian holiday," the President said. "On this day I rejoice with you and the hope that is the future of our country. Novruz is a family holiday and as a member of your family, I share this joy. I am proud that we created the single state of Georgia where representatives of all cultures, religions and ethnic groups can feel themselves as full citizens,"
Saakashvili's message posted on his official website said. "We build this country together and each of us is ready to sacrifice himself for its sake. This holiday is described in the greatest Georgian book 'Knight in Tiger Skin'.
The day is important for all Georgian citizens, world culture and civilisation as Novruz was declared an international holiday by the UN General Assembly.
"I heartily congratulate you with the national holiday and wish you success, peace and prosperity," the president said.
