Turkey recognizes Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said at a press-conference with his Georgian counterpart in Tbilisi today.

Turkey recognizes Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said at a press-conference with his Georgian counterpart in Tbilisi today.

Thus, he answered a Georgian journalist's question about the Turkish ships' frequent raids to Abkhazia and their detention by Georgian border guards.

Davutoglu said that Turkey has always stressed its attitude to Georgia's territorial integrity. He also stressed that there is a large Abkhazian diaspora in Turkey.
"I would like to see the conflict resolved within Georgia's territorial integrity.

"The topic was discussed at today's meeting, he added. "Georgia is one of the most important countries in the Caucasus. I hope that the progressive actions will soon be made to resolve the conflict."

As for the ships, he said that this problem will be resolved soon within the existing Georgian-Turkish relations.
