BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 24. The construction cost index (CCI) in Georgia in the fourth quarter of 2021 increased by 4.8 percent, compared to the third quarter of 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).
According to Geostat, the increase was mainly due to a 10.2 percent increase in nominal salaries of employees in the construction sector, with a 2.8 percentage points contribution to the total index change.
The CCI in Georgia over the reporting period of 2021 also increased by 13.6 percent, compared to the fourth quarter of 2020, the report said.
The increase was due to a 17.4 percent increase in construction materials prices (contribution of 9.64 percentage points to the annual index change).
