President Bashar al-Assad discussed here Tuesday with Ayad al-Samarrai, Chairman of the Iraqi Accord Front, the latest developments in Iraq, SANA reported.
The talks also dealt with the importance for the formation of a new government in Iraq guaranteeing the participation of all Iraqis in the political process, in contribution to the fortification of the unity of Iraq, and to the bolstering of the security and stability of Iraq.
Al-Samarrai voiced the appreciations of the Iraqi People for the efforts exerted by Syria to facilitate the participation of the Iraqis, residents in Syria, in the recently held Parliamentary Iraqi Elections, as well as for Syria's persistent support for the security and stability of Iraq.
